DOUBLE CHOCOLATE STOUT FLOAT
Adult beverage meets dessert. Creamy stout is paired with a big scoop of chocolate gelato and topped with chocolate syrup. The resulting rich, boozy, foamy primordial soup sparks such existential questions as – do I drink it and risk a beer-stache? Or play it safe and spoon it?
DOUBLE CHOCOLATE STOUT FLOAT
Double Chocolate Stout Float brings together the best of both worlds – rich creamy gelato and rich creamy stout. Use a high-quality dark stout to avoid it tasting ‘beery.’ Chocolate stout, milk stout, coffee stout – basically anything that sounds like it pairs with chocolate will bring out the best of the gelato.
Ingredients
- Classic Chocolate Gelato
- Chocolate Sauce
- Chocolate, Coffee or Milk Stout*
Instructions
For each serving:
Place one or two scoops of gelato in a pint glass.
Fill 3/4 with stout.
Mix in 1 generous spoonful of chocolate syrup and gently stir.
Fill with the remaining stout and place an additional scoop of gelato on top.
Notes
We found that small batch brands were infinitely better than mass produced stout. We were seriously disappointed by one very famous brand of stout that ended up tasting like dark piss. Trust us, the extra dollar or two for an artisan stout is absolutely worth it.
